Smart Brother reminds him of a little document called the Emancipation Proclamation, but his colleague is unimpressed. The blunt satiric arrows fly in all directions, hitting targets of various colors. It's not only dragging out tired, stereotypical notions - the supposed sexual menace of white women, the poor dance skills of white men, the African-American horror of mayonnaise - but also mocking their very tiredness, and tweaking black racial attitudes as well as white. Lee and his cast mine is neither very fresh nor very provocative, but that's part of the movie's point. There is a lot of clumsy Kung Fu fighting, a few big explosions and a surprising quotient of funny (if obvious) jokes.
